About Angela Barnes

After a career in health and social care, Angela Barnes took the plunge and embarked on her life-long dream to be a comedian. Within just a couple of years she had won the BBC New Comedy Award in 2011 and has now gone on to star in BBC Two’s Mock The Week, Live At The Apollo and Hypothetical on Dave.

As well as becoming a regular on BBC Radio 4 having featured on The Now Show and The News Quiz, Angela took on the role of host on BBC Radio 4 Extra’s Newsjack in 2017. Angela’s hit series You Can’t Take It With You returned for a second series in 2019 in the coveted 6:30 pm comedy slot on BBC Radio 4.

Recently, Angela took over hosting duties of BBC Radio 4’s iconic The News Quiz, hosting the full spring series to huge success.

About Tom Deacon

2020 was set to be an exciting year for Tom as he was filming his first ever Standup Special. The show ‘Rapture’ was performed at the 2019 New Zealand comedy festival and was picked up to make after its success.

Tom sometimes can’t believe that this will be his 14th year performing stand-up around the UK and world. He’s loved every minute because his versatile and charming persona have led him to be a part of so many incredible things in the presenting world.

He has been performing live stand-up for the last 14 years – with four Edinburgh solo shows under his belt – and has been the host of his own TV, radio and online shows on BBC2, BBC Radio1, The Capital FM breakfast show, plus host of Gfinity Esports shows and YouTube football channel Copa90 – where his Eurofan escapades have notched up over 8 million views.

He is currently the host of F1 Esports Pro Series . A journey into the world of Esports has led Tom to host on the Sky F1 channel for the first ever F1 sports tournament which took place during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix of 2017. Tom has hosted every year including the Virtual Grand Prix Series which drew a record breaking 30million views across TV and Digital platforms. The 2021 series will be back and bigger than ever.

About Paul McCaffrey

Paul is the founder of the Confident Crow Comedy Club and our partner in presenting the ‘Live at the Northbrook Arms’ comedy evenings.

On the radio, Paul has recently co-hosted the Rock and Roll football on Absolute Radio and the Warm up on TalkSport as well as guesting on Rob Beckett’s show on Absolute and performing Stand up on Russell Kanes Whistlestop Tour on Radio 2. Paul is also the co-host of Radio Xs The Britpopcast, a brand new podcast all about 90s music with George Lewis.

Paul has recently appeared on major UK tours with two of Britain’s foremost stand ups, Sean Lock and Kevin Bridges – playing to more than half a million people in Arenas and theatres to great critical acclaim. He has also been the support act for Michael Mcintyre, John Bishop and Lee Mack. 2019 saw McCaffrey take to the road for his first solo headline tour ‘I thought I’d have grown out of this by now’, playing to packed houses across the UK. In Spring 2020, he’ll be hitting the road again in his own right this time, with hilarious new show LEMON.
