Our third comedy evening of 2020 was a roaring success last night having been given the go ahead by the council.

After a long November closed due to the governments national lockdown, we were back with a bang and an incredible line up of the UK’s stand up comedians including Paul McCaffrey, Julian Deane and Jasper Cromwell Jones. 52 guests joined us on the night (all complying to current guidelines of course) for the evening of much need fun, laughter and escapism!

It didn’t stop there, we had a surprise visit from Seann Walsh who gave an impromptu set after the interval. Seann was onsite recording the ‘What’s upset you now?’ podcast with Paul. A second series of this podcast was recently launched following the success of the first series – both of which are available to download now from your usual source of podcasts (e.g. apple store).

“We had such a great evening! We’re so grateful that Adam and Kate are making the effort to put this evenings on. Goodness knows we’re all in need of cheering up and its fantastic to have such great comedians coming to such an intimate venue like the Northbrook Arms” – Lynn Chapman

We received amazing feedback from those in attendance which really makes the effort to get them to go ahead all worthwhile. Paul (McCaffrey) has been brilliant getting such stella line-ups to the pub and this evening was no exception. We will continue to make every effort to create a pub and environment that the community is proud of and wants to visit.

In the next week, we will be putting on our final two comedy evenings of the year on the 16th and 17th which will feature yet another cracking line up of Tania Edwards and Raymond & Mr. Timpkins. Both nights are now sold out but we are already planning in the next for the new year so watch this space!
